How to Tag Alignment to Multiple Industries
In WorkFront, how to show multiple industries
Purpose: In order to support the go-to-market strategy to align service lines to an Industry, we have updated Workfront with the ability to choose multi-industries. This will give our marketing leaders the opportunity to foster collaboration and visibility across industry and service lines.
Who & When: Everyone submitting Marketing Project Requests
Update to the Workfront Request Fields & Process:
1. Primary Industry drop-down menu – (Single select)
a. Choose your primary industry.
b. If selecting an industry is not applicable (i.e., brand or other internal requests)
i. Choose the new value “NA.”
c. If there are multiple industries aligning to your project
i. Choose the new value “Multi Industry” (previously “General”)
2. If the “Multi Industry” value is chosen, you will see a new field named “Contributing Industries” (allowing multi-select):
a. Choose only the industries that align to your project. This must be outlined on your strategic plan.
i. If not on your strategic plan, industry leader and advisory team must approve prior to submitting project request.
ii. After the project has been requested: Add an update to the "issue" documenting approval and tagging approvers.
iii. Alerts and Updates are exempt from requiring the above industry alignment approval process as they are reviewed by the Advisory team to ensure expedited deployment.
3. Reports can be generated to view all projects contributing to your industry.
a. How to create a report?
i. In Workfront Reports, select the report called “Projects by Industry”
ii. When the report prompt appears, in the first dropdown, select “Contains” and manually type in the name of the Industry being researched. >> Run Report
iii. This filter can also be applied with date parameters in the Target Due Date or Planned Start Date
iv. The report will show all projects aligned with the Industry selected, whether it is a Primary or Contributing Industry.
Marketing Calendar: Contribution will also be visible in the Marketing Calendar.
If you are updating this section of the project details and receive an error message on projects already in flight, it might be related to the Primary Industry or Contributing Industries field. Contact Quelle for support.
